Current Events and Podcasting

Sample Unit

At its center, this unit asks students to build upon their media literacy and critically look at multimedia texts that engage them in world events. Students apply their understanding of a critical lens to a specific current event by analyzing systems of power and perspective. Although the formal academic performance goals are a write-up and ongoing podcast, students are encouraged to engage their communities in their findings by formulating a call to action.
